ATHLETE & COACHES REQUIREMENTS:

For Patty J. Shipman Level 7 Team Challenge

Please review the following with all registered Level 7 athletes and their parents before arriving at the Judges Cup to avoid confusion or last-minute issues.

Qualification Criteria:

• Only the top six (6) all-around athletes scoring a minimum of 36.00AA (regardless of age) will qualify.

• Alternates may be selected to complete the team if needed.

Commitment & Deadlines:

To participate in the Patty J. Shipman Level 7 Team Challenge (January 8-10, 2027 – Niagara Falls, NY), all qualified athletes and coaches must:

• Commit to attend by November 25, 2026

• Submit the following by November 25, 2026

  • Athlete Bio Form

  • Photo for the program (JPEG format only)

Important: Only athletes who submit all required materials by the deadline will be registered.

NAWGJ-NYN will submit the registration fee per athlete on November 25, 2026.

Cancellation Policy:

Any athlete or coach who registers but does not attend will be responsible for reimbursing NAWGJ-NYN:

• $150 registration fee, and

• $250 for team attire and swag.​​​

TEAM COMPETITION FORMAT:

• Qualifying athletes will compete for team NY-N but will be divided into two (2) groups selected by the National Judges Cup Meet Director, consisting of three (3) athletes per group.

• Each group of three (3) gymnasts compete in a different "gym" at a different time judged by different judges.

• The scores achieved by each group are combined to determine placement in the team competition. This process is done to keep the integrity of the team results. 

• NAWGJ-NYN has no input in the selection of these groups or the format of the competitions.

• It will be the responsibility of the coaches to insure they have enough staff to accommodate this format.

• NAWGJ-NYN will pay the team registration for entry into the Level 7 team competition if required.

• Due to time constraints for custom apparel, all athletes attire will be shipped to the participating club with the most qualifying athletes. That club will be responsible for coordinating the distribution of the attire upon arrival at the National Judges Cup.

• Please have all qualifying gymnasts' names (with correct spelling), USAG #'s and correct birthdates available immediately following the Level 7 competition. These are needed to complete the registration into the team competition. ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
